Hair Accessories for Fall Styles

by Busola November 5, 2015

Hello everyone! My name is Busola Coutss and I am a guest blogger today on Remington. I will be showing you how to upgrade and spice up your fall outfits using Remington hair accessories.

Hair accessories will always be trendy no matter what the weather says. Having a good hair day doesn't always have to end there but accessorizing that pretty hair goes a long way. With these two Remington hair accessories, you can take your fall looks from just an outfit to a chic fall outfit in a second.

For this first look, I styled the Red Plaid Bow Head Wrap with my sweater and printed midi skirt. Plaid is such a huge trend this fall season and with a lovely color like red, you simply can't go wrong. The head wrap adds a fun and feminine touch to the slightly edgy look. This is a great look for fashion week and events. It takes you straight from the office to any event and more.

For this next look, I wanted to show that a casual look doesn't have to be so laid back and so casual. To spice up the look, I styled it with the Blue Gem Head Band, it gives the outfit an all-round sweet and chic look.

Hair accessories always add a golden touch and make a big difference in a look. Have fun! For more styling tips and inspiration, visit me at my blog The Fashion Stir Fry

Fit and Fluoro

The Fit and Fluoro Active Style trend features an array of bright, rich colors. We're all about these fresh tones that pop with boldness. Don’t be afraid to mix and match the bright colors in a single look and then find a fun print that brings it all together: Geometric or watercolor prints are some of our favorites. So try this vibrant look for your workout or to spice up your lounge day attire.

Pastel Perfect

The Pastel Perfect Double Knit Elastics trend comes from a mix of pretty and fierce. We love the tint of colors that are crisp while still lively. Pastels have been a trendy influence in everyday style and now they’ve made their way to activewear! Pair lighter pastels with richer colors, and look for floral or watercolor prints. You’ll be looking super cute at the gym or anywhere your day might take you!

Valentine's Fashion

by Remington Ready January 29, 2015

Date Night

Going on a classic Valentine’s Day date with your man? Maybe it’s that new restaurant you’ve been meaning to try or your favorite hotspot downtown. Your go-to outfit should be a classic red dress. Keep it chic with a flowing shift dress or try a sexy bodycon dress. Layer on some elegance with a sparkling gold or silver necklace and black pumps. Finish it off with a loose up-do and he won’t be able to take his eyes off of you.

Girls Night Out

Maybe Valentine’s Day is your night to celebrate with your single ladies! Hit the scene wearing something fun! Ditch the red for skinny jeans or a skirt in purple or pink. A peplum top is the perfect flirty piece that still keeps it classy, along with your favorite embellished necklace. Add an edgy touch with a leather jacket and your favorite high-heels that really make a statement. You’ll look fantastic while enjoying the night with some of your best friends!

Staying In

Sometimes the best Valentine’s Day is one spent at home with your hubby, family or friends! Pop in a rom-com classic and open your favorite bottle of wine. Try an outfit that’s comfortable and add a Valentine’s Day touch. Put on a cute light pink sweater or sweatshirt and a cozy scarf. Some faded boyfriend jeans make a great relaxed-chic look. Top it off with some fun moccasins or Valentine’s socks and you’re ready for the perfect night in.

Jersey Style

by Remington Ready January 28, 2015

Your team might not have made it to the big game, but you can still represent them with style this football weekend. Here’s a little inspiration to dress up your jersey! Make the jersey the focus and add a skirt or blazer. Then it’s all about the accessories, so round up your team-colored favorites! Go with more formal accessories like a clutch and heels, or a more casual look with a necklace and sneakers. Have fun with your look and, win or lose, have a great time!

Trend Alert: Bold Stripes

by Remington Ready January 12, 2015

The Trend

The stripe trend is transitioning from the simplistic nautical feel to bold mod prints. Instead of even stripes, widths are varying and mixed from pinstripe to wide bands. Colors expand beyond just white with black or navy. We’re seeing bolder combinations with reds, blues and greens.

Stripes For You

If you’re not quite ready to fill your wardrobe with stripes, then start simple. Add stripes to your handbags and shoes for a pop of print. Try a striped top under a solid colored blazer or cardigan so the striped print doesn’t feel overwhelming. You could also look for pieces that mix in a striped print with solid color blocks, like the black and white sweater above.

If you want a bolder stripe style, then have fun with it! Look for varying stripe widths and colors. Your striped piece should be the focus, so remember to keep all other items and accessories classic and simple in colors that complement the striped pattern.

Find Your Perfect Winter Coat

by Remington Ready January 5, 2015

You know what kinds of clothes look good on your body type, and your winter coat should be no different. So you’ll need something that looks fabulous, flatters your favorite features, and complements your stylish clothing. Check out the coats below along with tips for finding the perfect one for your body type!

1. Dress Trench Coat

Body Type: Hourglass

A dress trench coat is a great fit for a more curvy shape. The key is to find something that highlights your waist and doesn’t cling to your curves. Try a longer coat with feminine feel that is soft-fitting. Flatter your assets, don’t flatten them!

2. Cocoon Coat

Body Type: Apple

This black coat slims by drawing attention to the waist without cinching up. Try something with details around the waist like zippers or pockets. This coat works perfectly with a color block line across the center and the lapels that point to the waist.

3: Furl Collar Coat

Body Type: Pear

If your body is pear shaped, draw attention to your chest and shoulders with large lapels or a fur collar. Bright colors also bring attention to the upper body. Try something with a soft fit that still shows off your curves!

4: Trench Coat

Body Type: Athletic

A tailored coat belted at the waist is a great fit for those with a slender build or wider shoulders. A longer coat is usually best, but focus on one that gives you an hourglass shape. Try lapels or raised-necks, a belted waist, and an A line shape below the waist like this trench coat.

5: Parka

Body Type: Busty

Slim your top half by avoiding large lapels or buttons and a belt at the waist. This parka lies flat across the chest and adds length, but still shows some shape to the body. A coat with more of an A line below the waist works well too!

6: Cape Coat

Body Type: Any/Pregnant

A cape coat looks fabulous on every shape, but it’s especially flattering if you’re pregnant. This trendy coat fits nicely over a growing baby-bump. Or if a fitted coat is more your style, just look for one that can be belted above the waist!

7: Mid-length Coat

Body Type: Tall

There isn’t a certain type of coat for tall body types— it’s all about the features. Look for something with a looser fit and mid-length with a straight shape. Color blocking or details around the waist break up the coat’s length. Try to stay away from single color coats!

8: Long Pea Coat

Body Type: Petite

If the goal is to elongate your body, stick to a single color coat that cuts at the knee. You don’t want the coat to be too tight-fitted, but make sure not to drown your lovely frame! A straight fit works best and the line that runs down this coat is a great extra detail.

The Braided Crown

by Remington Ready November 3, 2014

Braided Crown:

1. Part hair to the side and separate 3 small sections from the front of the part.

2. French Braid hair by crossing each section under the other, instead of over the other like normal braiding. To French Braid hair, add small sections of hair every time the braid crosses. It is best to start by adding sections from the part and hair line.

3. Continue French Braiding hair across forehead, around the back of the head, and to the other side, so that braid wraps around head like a headwrap.

4. Once you reach the end, secure with a Double Knit elastic.

5. Tuck/cover up the end of the braid into the hair behind/above the ear and secure with bobbies.
