Spring Beauty - Lip Colors!

by Lauren Wickman April 15, 2013

Hi there! This is Lauren from L.A. in the bay, back again to share one of my favorite things about Spring Beauty - the lip colors! If you read my blog, you would know that I have sort of an obsession with lipstick. Bright pinks, bold reds, punchy corals - no matter the occasion, you can find me wearing them!

One of Spring's biggest makeup trends is combining a fresh face (dewy or matte) with bold brows and an even bolder lip. See here. This is one look I will definitely be sporting this Spring. Another Spring trend that I am particularly fond of is the combination of bold lashes with a soft tangerine or peachy lip. So incredibly fresh.

Makeup is all about trying new things, so what better way to start than with your lips. Here are some of my favorite lipsticks and lip colors that are sure to make you look Spring-ready.

1. Radiant Cosmetics Lipstick in Daphne $22

This lipstick is without-a-doubt one of my favorites. In a pinky fuchsia shade, this lipstick provides the bold effect you want for Spring and is incredibly hydrating all at the same time. And the best part about it - with every lipstick that you buy, you will be helping in the fight to end human trafficking. Beauty at its best, if you ask me.

2. MAC Lipstick in Candy Yum Yum $15

This lipstick is a definite statement maker. It is one of the hottest pink lip colors out on the market right now and works well with any skin tone.

3. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pro's Picks Lip Tar Set $49

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics are becoming one of the most popular makeup brands. With a wide selection of "lip tars" to choose from, this combo set helps narrow the choices down by combining all of Spring's gorgeous shades.

4. Revlon Creme Lipstick in Hot Coral $7.99

This has long been one of my favorite, go-to shades. It is the perfect coral and is so incredibly hydrating. People will definitely be stopping you when you're wearing this shade!

5. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart $5.99

Revlon Lip Butter's are definitely the lip colors you are going to want to stalk up on for Spring. To say that they are incredibly moisturizing would be an understatement. This is one of my favorite shades of the bunch. It has the prettiest peachy undertone.

6. NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Biscayne Park $25

If NARS' Matte Lip Pencils didn't already gain enough popularity, the satin lip pencils surely will. With a subdued look, this pink guava shade will act as the perfect everyday lip color.

7. Estee Lauder Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Mandarin Pop $25

Take yourself to the Bahamas with this tropical shade. With a touch of shimmer, you will be looking like a bronzed goddess in no time.

Will you be adding any of these gorgeous shades to your Spring makeup bag?

xoxo L

Favorite Coats for the Season

by Lauren Wickman November 19, 2012

Hello Remington beauty lovers! My name is Lauren and I blog over at my fashion & lifestyle blog, L.A. in the Bay. So happy to be with you all today as a Remington sponsored blogger. Today, I will be sharing with you my absolute favorite coats for the Fall/Winter season!

Fall and Winter are my favorite two seasons out of the year. I mean, pumpkin spice lattes, thick-knit socks, riding boots, and my favorite coat - what could possibly be better? There are so many coats  out on the market right now that I can't help but want to empty my pay check on! So, if you are out on the hunt looking for a new jacket or coat to make your Holiday season just right, look to these six in some of Fall's hottest styles.

The Trench

The coat is an absolute classic. It is one jacket that I suggest every woman has in her closet. In the perfect neutral color, this coat is the one piece that you can throw on with a pair of jeans and riding boots, or over a classic LBD for a night out. Loving this one from J. Crew.

The Winter-White Coat

This exquisite asymmetrical belted coat screams "Holidays". With gorgeous gold button detailing, and a flattering draped collar - you will be sure to turn heads.

The Edgy Coat

This season is all about leather detailing, especially among the sleeves. Love the combination of wool and leather on this double breasted coat. Definitely want this in my closet!

The Merlot Coat

This is just about Fall's hottest color. Call it merlot, oxblood, or cranberry - whatever the shade - you are sure to be right on trend with this zipped up number.

The Parka

Looking for one of those coats you can throw on during the day when in a fashion-rut? The parka is your go-to choice. Throw it on with a skirt, a pair of tights, and short booties for a very Olivia Palermo-esque look.

The Pop-of-Color Coat

It is always important to incorporate color into an otherwise neutral Winter ensemble. This Kelly Green coat is an absolute gorgeous choice. The streamlined, classic structure is sure to flatter all shapes AND it won't break the bank!

Do any of these beauties strike your fancy?

Thanks for having me! XO
